The South Atlantic Region of Soroptimist International of the Americas, encompasses, the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. There are 32 clubs in the region with almost 1,000 members.
From the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean to the mountains of the Shenandoah’s, the South Atlantic Region of Soroptimist International of the America’s encompasses wonderful land in which to live and work and play. There is great diversity in the region from the hustle and bustle of the nation’s capital in Washington, DC to the quiet villages of western Virginia.

2004-2006 Region Project: The Soroptimist Village Dispensary Kit project provides basic medicines and medical supplies for rural community health clinics in developing and impoverished countries which serve the poorest of the poor, without regard to ethnicity, creed, color, gender, national origin or political affiliation. The project has been coordinated by S.I. Howard County and I.M.A. (Interchurch Medical Assistance, Inc.) since late 1996. As of March 1, 2004, a total of 116 kits have been delivered to the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
The goal for the Soroptimist Village Dispensary Kit project is to provide 150 additional kits with 100% club participation in the 2004 2006 biennium.
